Kids Day on the Farm
DATES:

COST: $45 per child
TIME: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Looking for something to do with the kids? Join us for a day of fun! From scavenger hunts and flower art to making music, this is an exciting and educational experience for the whole family. About the instructor, Kelli Howard: Kelli graduated this past December from Appalachian State University with a degree in Sustainable Development in Agroecology. She enjoys spending time with friends, singing and playing music and baking. Her dream is to one day have her own farm with an educational camp!
Sample Activities
Scavenger hunts around the garden to spot leaves, colors, and small critters
Flower petal art: create pressed-petal pictures and petal mosaics
Making music and dancing using simple farm-made instruments and scarves
Pollinator watching: observe bees, butterflies, and other pollinators with guided discussion about their role
Plant and flower identification: hands-on matching games and storytelling about common farm plants
Planting seeds to take home and care for
Details & Pricing
Program length: 2 hours (10:00 AM–12:00 PM)
Parents/guardians must stay with their child for the duration
Cost: $45 per child
Children age 3 and under: free
Maximum children per session: 12 total
What to Bring
Comfortable clothes that can get dirty and closed-toe shoes
A hat and sunscreen applied before arrival (we’ll have limited shade)
Water bottle
Optional picnic to enjoy on the farm after the program (please leave by 1:00 PM)
Safety & Accessibility
Activities are child-friendly and supervised by farm staff and volunteers
Please inform us of allergies or special needs when registering
Weather: sessions are held rain or shine with some activities moved under cover as needed
Reserve a spot early — limited to 12 children per date.
REFUND POLICY: Event payments are non-refundable. With 72 hour advance notice of your inability to attend, you may transfer your payment to another event.
